Has anybody ever unfriended you for your political beliefs? What happens when friendship ties are cut but political ties remain? Simulations suggest that in the absence of friendships, the population bifurcates along party lines. When friendships cross party boundaries, the population does not fragment. Surprising outcome when new friendships are created.
